£100K target has been reached
We are delighted to be able to share the news that we’ve hit the £100K target to fund the acquisition of Gorne Wood.
We can’t thank you enough for your enormous generosity. In addition to donations so many of you have given your time and/or skills in many different ways to make this campaign a success. We have also been touched by the support of schools, children, local scouts/cubs and several charities/organisations that have championed the Save Gorne Wood appeal despite having their own fundraising to do.
In addition to the generous Ecosia donation we got a big shout out on social media from Robert Macfarlane – author of many beautiful books including The Lost Words and The Old Ways. This along with a massive push from individual supporters and community groups, got us over the finishing line late last night.
The next step will be the acquisition process by the Council. This can take many months as it involves negotiations with a hostile land owner as well as complex legal processes. We will get there but we have to be patient.
Thanks again – you’re all so amazing.
Best wishes
The Fourth Reserve
